Fairness Deduction (Any attacks or mechanics that can cause the player unfair deaths will result in a reduction of points.Fun (Is the fight enjoyable? Does it make your heart pump? These are the bosses that you want to fight again and again).And donвЂ™t worry about the bosses that might be hard because of unfair attacks: thatвЂ™s what the final score is for).

Difficulty (Fairly obvious this one, the more challenging the boss is, the higher the score.

A largely aesthetic score, but important nonetheless).

Atmosphere (The look of the boss, the arena, cutscenes and music will all contribute to this score.

Bosses that show off this lore in the fight will get even higher scores).

Lore (The level at which the boss is mentioned and plays a significant role in the backstory of the game as a whole is important.

Diversity, uniqueness and complexity are generally good signs here).

Mechanics (boss moveset, variation and any interesting additional environmental or unique factors will promote this score.

Not everyone will agree however, and I apologise for that, but the best way to change my mind is to comment below and convince me to change some scores! For these, as well as my own personal judgement and experience, I have tried to gauge the public opinion to make a numeric decision. But I understand making an entirely objective list is impossible, and that two of the categories I have chosen (fun and difficulty) are inherently subjective themselves. You can read up about these factors below. My aim for this list is for it to be about as objective as possible, a very difficult task! To achieve this I have decided upon five important factors, each rated out of 20, and then a fairness deduction that also rises to 20, leading to a total out of 100 for each boss. Finally Aldia misses out, since I completely forgot I could fight him at the end of Dark Souls 2.NOTE вЂ“ I have now released a mini list with Dark Souls 2 DLC and Ringed City bosses ranked.

And yes, I know there are some great bosses there, but I will add them to this list when I get a copy for PS4 (as well as the bosses from the last Dark Souls 3 DLC when it is released), so make sure to check back then! I will also not be including any Chalice Dungeon bosses from Bloodborne on here, just main game and DLC ones. Because of this, none of its bosses will be on the list, as well as Dark Souls 2 DLC bosses, simply because I never bought the DLCs on old generation consoles. Regrettably I never had the chance to play Demon Souls, but should it be released upon current generation consoles, it will be up there on my list of must buy games. But not every boss fight is created equal, and now I am going to rank all the bosses that I have fought, all 100 of them. The Soulsborne games are easily up there with my favourite games of all time, but what exactly makes them so good? Sure, the difficulty is well known, and the areas can be beautiful, but I think what always draws attention to these games are the colourful, powerful and downright amazing boss fights.
